1.Introduction
Shaadi Hub ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and mobile application at www.shaadihub.co.uk (the "Service"), an online marketplace that helps people planning weddings and events discover, compare and contact providers of wedding venues, catering, stages, décor, DJs and dhol players.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data transparently and lawfully. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
By using the Service you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed as described in this policy. If you do not agree with the practices set out here, you should not use the Service.

4.How we use your data
We use your personal data to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) display and operate listings, enquiries and bookings; (c) verify vendor identities and help prevent fraud; (d) process subscription and add-on payments; (e) send service-related notifications (such as enquiry updates and booking reminders); (f) send marketing emails where you have opted in, and allow you to unsubscribe at any time; (g) respond to support requests and complaints; (h) maintain the security, integrity and performance of the Service; and (i) comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
5.Lawful basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following lawful bases recognised by UK GDPR: (a) contract — to provide the Service you have requested, including your account, listings and enquiries; (b) legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws; (c) legitimate interests — to operate, secure and improve the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and communicate with users, where these interests are not overridden by your rights; and (d) consent — for marketing emails and certain cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
6.Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described here: (a) with other Users as necessary to operate enquiries and bookings (see below); (b) with our payment provider to process transactions; (c) with service providers who help us run the Service (such as hosting, analytics and email delivery) under contracts that require them to protect your data; and (d) where required by law, regulation, or to protect our rights, safety or the safety of others.
7.Enquiries & bookings between Users
When you send an enquiry or booking request to a provider, we share the information you provide (such as your name, email, requested date and message) with that provider so they can respond. Similarly, vendors receive enquiry and booking information from customers. Each User is an independent data controller for any personal data they collect through these interactions and is responsible for handling it in accordance with data-protection law.
8.International transfers
Your data may be processed by our service providers in countries outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as transfers to providers that comply with recognised data-protection frameworks, and we only share the minimum data necessary.
9.How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy or to meet our legal obligations. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for record-keeping and dispute resolution. Transaction records are kept as required for accounting and tax law. You can ask us to delete your data earlier, subject to legal retention requirements (see Your rights below).
10.Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure storage. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
11.Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used, and improve it. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some cookies are necessary for the Service to function; others are optional and used for analytics or marketing.
12.Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: (a) be informed about how we use your data (this policy); (b) access your personal data; (c) rectify inaccurate data; (d) erase your data in certain circumstances ("right to be forgotten"); (e) restrict processing; (f) port your data to another provider; (g) object to processing based on legitimate interests or for marketing; and (h) withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
13.Exercising your rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@shaadihub.co.uk. We will respond within the timeframe required by law (usually one month). To protect your data, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
14.Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
15.Vendor identity verification
To help keep the marketplace safe and prevent fraud, vendors may be required to complete identity verification. This may involve uploading an identity document, proof of address and bank-statement references. We use this information solely for verification purposes and handle it in line with this policy. Verification documents are stored securely and access is restricted.
Verification may include automated checks, including AI-assisted document analysis, with manual review where needed. The outcome of a successful check is shown publicly as a "Verified" badge on your listings — this displays only your verification status, never your documents or the details within them. If verification is unsuccessful, we will tell you why and you may be asked to resubmit documents.
16.Marketing & newsletters
If you sign up to our mailing list, we will use your email address and first name to send you promotional content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us. We will not send marketing emails to anyone who has not opted in.
17.Payment data
Payments for Premium subscriptions and add-ons are processed by our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card numbers. We retain records of the transaction (such as the plan, amount, status and dates) for account history and accounting purposes.
18.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the updated version and effective date at the top of this page. Where we consider changes material, we will use reasonable efforts to notify active users. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
19.Complaints & the ICO
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data-protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
This Privacy Policy is provided for transparency and to comply with UK data-protection law. It is general in nature and does not constitute legal advice. If anything in this policy is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in full force.
